What's the appeal?

I can appreciate how much time was spent on this, but frankly I did not find it stimulating in any way. The characters were dull and samey, there was no interesting violence that hasn't been done a thousand times before, and the whole thing looked like the colour had just been drained of any vibrancy.

I'm also disappointed that I watched it to the end, when I was bored within the first minute. That the characters wobbled along like a humourless version of south park didn't help either. I think for the most part, the blood and splatter effects were well done, as well as the flames, and you handle changes in perspective expertly. I just think your skills are going to waste making lifeless characters mutilate each other.

The sound effects were down right depressing: the slow, repetitive and grinding music only makes the mood even more dull. And what was with the red gradient used for the background? I can understand If it were to help a little with frame rate issues, but it just seemed plain lazy. After all, it only needs to be done once, and would have worked wonders in raising visual quality.

Interesting

I thought the animation was pretty good to be honest, however the standard of art was not on the same level. But I definitely think you got the timing and movements correct, and the sound effects worked really well.

Thank you. I'm not much of an artist which you can obviously tell from this animation. I have a decent concept of the basics of animation (anticipation, timing etc) and the sound effects are all thanks to pepper. He did an awesome job.

Wow, holy crap. I've never seen a flash like this before. Great animation, story, characters, and sound editing. Everything is so professionally done, this is a mreally high standard animation up with the best newgrounds has seen so far.

Hey..

Really nice work and I consider myself hard to please. The animation in this flash can be a little bit dodgy at times, but you've really made up for it in the lush visual styles. Loved the concept, so different from most flash submissions on this site.

For a first SWF

That was pretty good and i'm sure others will feel the same. Some of the animation touchs were really nice - like the guy who was smoking outside the door - next time try animating arm and leg movements.

Good camera

Your cinematography was great and you have a good understanding of where things should be and what pace the movie should go at. The only problem was, as you mentioned, the artistry and characters which didn't work so well.

This must have taken a while, so well done.

[Saturday Morning Watchmen]

Like I'm sure many others..

I've never read or seen anything to do with watchmen, but this is so nostalgic to those old 80's to early 90's cartoons it doesn't matter. It reminded me of Visionaries and defenders of the earth, except the animation quality was actually better than those shows.
If I was a fan of watchmen I'm sure it would have been 10/10.

Damn good

At first I found the song sickening. Well to be honest, I still do, but it's so damn catchy, and the pretty/heart warming animations have actually made me like this tune. Good job to everyone.

Theres a few interesting animations in here, but apart from that theres not much going for it. Definitely work on it more, add some more shading to the character perhaps? And I recommend making a more detailed background.
